There are many places in your community where you can get free, welcoming care for you and your baby. Talk to your regular health care provider about your pregnancy and the prenatal care options that are best for you.

If you don’t have a regular health care provider or are interested in other options, these are some of the sites in your community that provide care for you and your baby:

HSC Women’s Hospital
In the heart of inner city Winnipeg, Women’s Hospital provides a wide range of health services to women of all ages and supports both a woman-centered and family-centered approach to care.

Outpatient Department. 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Mount Carmel Clinic
No judgment here. Mount Carmel Clinic is a non-profit community health centre. We’re committed to helping families live healthy lives.

Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 AM to 8:00 PM.

Sage House
Sage House is located at Mount Carmel Clinic at 886 Main Street.
Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 AM to 8:00 PM.

Sage House will provide prenatal care for women in the sex trade.

NorWest Co-op Community Health
NorWest provides care for people in the Inkster community and some areas of Seven Oaks. NorWest has experience working with newcomers to Canada.

The Street Connections Van
Located at various locations in the Downtown areas and can provide prenatal care for you and your baby.
Monday to Friday from 6 PM – 12:30 AM, and Saturdays from 5:30 PM – 11:30 PM.

Street Connections is a harm reduction service that works with people involved with drugs, sex work or street life.

Healthy Baby/Healthy Start Programs

There are also Healthy Baby and Healthy Start programs where you can receive prenatal care from a midwife:

Crossways in Common
102-222 Furby Street on the corner of Furby and Broadway.
The Building Healthy Families program runs here every Thursday from 12:30-2:30 PM. The midwife is here every other  Thursday.
